Introduction
Cardems is a card-game app with no account or sign-in system. This policy applies to the Cardems iOS app, cardems.com and related support communications.
Information stored on your device
Cardems stores information locally on your device to provide its features. This can include game statistics and records, virtual Blackjack bankroll and statistics, your selected language, sound, volume and haptic settings, your Usage Analytics choice, a Remove Ads entitlement cache, and advertising opportunity and cooldown state.
Blackjack chips and bankroll are virtual gameplay values only. They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be cashed out or transferred.
Optional Usage Analytics
Usage Analytics is optional and is disabled by default. It starts only if you choose Allow Analytics. You can turn it off or on later in Cardems Settings. Turning it off stops future Firebase Analytics collection from the app; it does not retract information that was already transmitted.
When enabled, Google Firebase Analytics may process app, device and lifecycle metadata; screen and game-selection activity; game starts, results, exits and active duration; moves, scores, streaks, remaining-card counts and score margins; virtual Blackjack bankroll and net-change metrics; app and game session identifiers; and advertising lifecycle events.
Cardems's custom analytics events are not intended to send names, email addresses, account IDs, card hands or card contents, contacts, precise location, payment-card details or real-money balances. Optional usage analytics should not be described as fully anonymous because analytics services may process device, app and session information.
Advertising and privacy choices
Users without a verified Remove Ads entitlement may see interstitial advertising. Google Mobile Ads is used to request and display those ads. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used to obtain and manage privacy choices where required. When UMP requires an entry point for changes, Cardems shows Privacy Choices in Settings; this control opens Google's in-app privacy-options form.
Google advertising SDKs may process information such as IP address; device or advertising identifiers where available; app, product and advertising interactions; advertising exposure; and diagnostic, crash and performance information. They may also infer approximate or coarse location from IP address. Advertising may be personalized, limited or non-personalized depending on geography, your choices and Google/AdMob configuration. This describes third-party SDK processing, not information that Cardems directly reads in its own Swift code.
In-app purchases
Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. Apple processes the purchase and payment information. Cardems verifies the product and transaction entitlement information needed to unlock Remove Ads, but does not receive full payment-card details. You can use Restore Purchases in Settings to restore an eligible purchase.
Third-party service providers
Cardems currently uses Google Firebase Analytics for optional usage analytics, Google Mobile Ads for advertising, Google UMP for advertising privacy choices, and Apple StoreKit and the App Store for in-app purchases. These providers process information under their own settings and policies.
Purposes of processing
We use information to provide app features, maintain local preferences and records, process and restore the Remove Ads entitlement, measure optional usage analytics, deliver advertising where applicable, manage privacy choices, diagnose technical issues, respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
Data retention
Local information remains on your device until you remove it, delete or reset the app, replace the device, or it changes through normal app operation. Third-party providers retain information according to their own settings and policies. Disabling Usage Analytics prevents future collection from the app but does not retroactively erase information already transmitted.
User choices and consent withdrawal
You can change Usage Analytics in Cardems Settings at any time. If UMP requires it for your situation, Privacy Choices is also available in Settings for advertising preferences. You may contact us with privacy-related questions or requests at support@cardems.com.
Children
Cardems is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
International processing
Cardems and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws in your location.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No app, website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information in support emails unless it is necessary for your request.
User rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email support@cardems.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Cardems's data practices change. When we do, we will update the effective date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
